Falling Into God, in Belgium
Falling Into God, in Belgium

We left Skien, Norway, the YWAM base where our friend, Cassandra, has been doing her DTS. She lives close enough to "A Place for the Heart," that she has been a regular in our camps, schools, and a huge help to Jonathan and Melissa, caring often for their children. One sad note though about "Cassie." She has lost her southern accent, but thank God, not her southern hospitality! We will miss her...
We stopped in Oslo and did a meeting with Thomas and Beatte. They have been married only a few years and announced to us their new found joy that they are pregnant, expecting a boy, but with no name. Any suggestions out there? We did a meeting with their fellow leaders in a ministry they are involved in with college students from the university in Oslo. I was more than a little tired after many non-stop meetings for the two weeks we had been in Norway. Add to that the travel and personal ministry, I don't even remember what I spoke on that evening, but God still showed up. Can't tell you how often on this trip when I feel like I have nothing more to say or teach on, I hear God: "What is more important than having a message? BEING ONE."
Later, Beatte sent Linda and I this encouraging email:
Ken and Linda!
It was our pleasure to have you guys, even just for a short while! We're so glad to hear that you had a good time, for that was our prayer and wish, that it would not be just another stop to give, give, give, but that You could be refreshed as well.
It has been quite a hard fall together with the disciple leadership, and prayer, sharing and such hasn`t been flowing really. It`s been hard to seek God together which I believe is a bit of a surprise for most of us. But that night together with Linda and you was the best ever since August What you shared really touched our hearts, and just you guys wanting to spend time and energy on us, blessed us beyond..You guys really bring God`s presence with you always, and I love it whenever you can come along Linda (Ken knows I'm a big fan of that;)
Just you being you even blessed Thomas and I. When you had gone to bed friday night, I could hear laughter and giggling from the guest-room (baby-room) and I thought; they are the perfect example of marriage after 30 years (or however long you`ve been married..) we talked about how we hope to experience the love you show each other, and we thought maybe a key, is to not take each other for granted.... but I don`t know. Maybe you have some secret recipe???!
There is a secret recipe prescribed by my son, Jonathan. He told me days before he married Melissa, "Dad. You know that Melissa and I have done more than fall in love with each other. If you fall into love you might just fall out of love. But if you fall into GOD TOGETHER, then you have to get out of God in order to get away from each other, and who wants to fall out of God? What we have is an 'IN GOD RELATIONSHIP.'"
That is the secret: "FALLING INTO GOD TOGETHER... EVEN NOW IN BRUSSELS, BELGIUM!"
